Used Bootcamp to add Windows 7 to my Mac Pro running 10.6.4

Works great but the Apple Studio Display becomes too dim on start-up of Windows 7 & I cannot control the brightness by using the Display's control.

As well, there is no software control.

Any idea where I can obtain a Driver for this Display for the 64 bit version of Windows 7?

Thanks!

Which Mac Pro do you have (mid 2010 etc.) and what Graphics Card do you have?

Does the display connect using VGA, DVI, Dual Link DVI or another standard?

Also ensure both Windows and Bootcamp are up to date (Bootcamp 3.1). This can be downloaded via Apple Software update for Windows.

Bootcamp 3.1

The Bootcamp version I used was 3.0.1

Have now downloaded 3.1 & will look for the required driver.

The drivers I originally downloaded came from my Snow Leopard Installation Disk

Any tips on finding the driver required to run my Apple Studio Display with Windows 7 Prof (64 bit)

Thanks again!

I have installed the updated Bootcamp v 3.1

I note it updated the NVIDIA Driver

But the Driver for my Apple Studio Display is for a Generic PnP Monitor - Windows tells me it is the latest driver for my display.

I am still unable to adjust the screen brightness either with the Display Brightness Button or the software available in the Control Panel.

This is why I asked you what your Graphics card and model was.

I don't ask things for fun you know.

ALL the Graphics drivers bundled with Bootcamp 3.1 are now out of date so you need to download an updated one from Nvidia or ATI. If you tell us which we can point you to the download.

The connection type is also quite important because the Windows driver is not always a direct paralel to the Mac one (for instance the new MacBooks with Mini Display Ports on the Mac bit support Audio over it while the Windows one does not).

Thanks, Oli..

I have an early 2010 Mac Pro 2.93 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon

It has a NVIDIA GeForce GT 120 Graphics Card

The Apple Studio Display (17“) connects to the Mac Pro with a DVI -> ADC adaptor.

Many thanks for any suggestions.

You can download the latest drivers from Drivers - Download NVIDIA Drivers.

There is a table at Apple DVI to ADC Adapter: Compatibility Table which may or may not be helpful.

I think the problem is that because you are using the adapter, Windows and all appropriate drivers are not designed to handle it properly (from what I can find a lot of Macs aren't either :s).

I think your best bet would be to contact Apple directly because I think this may just be something that Apple didn't bother implementing in Bootcamp or ask Nvidia/ATI t put into their Windows drivers.

Yet another of Apple's ploys to make you upgrade (but have you seen their new displays, I mean WOW!) ;)

Many thanks!

Did download the updated driver - no luck.

Will contact Apple about the DVI -> ADC connection.

Sure hope I can figure this out without having to buy a new Display!
