now i am by no means an apple fan boy. i don't like their closed market structure, but they just boot stomped every pc company into submission, it's gonna be hard to offer a windows counterpart with the capabilities this thing has at a price thats competitive

And actually it was announced before iPad.
It was announced in CES 2010

It uses Windows 7
but, yeah, it's more expensive then iPad

i've seen it and as cool as it is the price of the iPad kills it. apple finally created a product that could compete with others on price. how the hell did that happen? it's not like apple at all.

I love my iPod touch, but....

The multi-touch tablet idea is awesome, really it is (I want one, and a multi-touch PC), but it just feels like a GIANT iPod. I am kind of sick of it.

At least HP made it DIFFERENT looking. I would be much more inclined to get that one.

The other deal killer is AT&T. Come on Apple, open it up to ALL carriers.

Personally, I'm going to hold out until next year when they unveil the..........iPad mini. It will just be the iPhone without the phone. No...wait a minute...they already have that...it's the iPod Touch.

my only gripe about it is the hybrid OS i want a real fully functioning OS like windows 7. maybe someone will reverse hackintosh this thing.

I heard also you have to pay a monthly fee to use the Internet as well -- so what's the difference between this giant Tea Tray and an Iphone apart from the size.

At least with a Netbook you can use FREE WiFI.

You can use free Wi-Fi with this as well as far as I know. It's the 3G support that costs extra. It's an extra $130 for the hardware and $14.95 for a 250MB a month plan and $29.99 for an unlimited plan....the only good thing with the plans is that they don't require a contract.

also this doesn't have to be tied to AT&T that was just their pricing for the 3g, it will have a swappable sim card, this was noted elsewhere while the press was playing with it, not during the event. i will find my source and post it.
