I recently installed a new 60GB SSD as my primary hard drive and re-installed Windows 7 Professional 64-bit. I then installed SSD Fresh from Abelssoft to optimize Windows to run on the SSD. It seemed to install okay, but when I try to run the utility, its splash screen appears briefly before it quietly closes. No errors are displayed; the utility just fails to launch. I have run SSD Fresh on another SSD-equipped Windows 7 Pro x64 computer in the past without any problems.

Does anyone know what might be preventing the program from running? I tried running `sfc /scannow` from the command line (with administrator privileges), shutting down the Spybot Resident, and disabling the firewall and virus scanner. I also tried running the tool as administrator; I even tried reinstalling it, running the installer as administrator. No luck.

Every time I try to launch the program the Event Viewer logs this same set of errors:

For those who are interested, here is my system configuration:

Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

I believe your best bet is to start from scratch, you don't need to optimize an SSD.
Side by side errors can be cured, usually it means a program doesn't have the correct interface .dll so it cannot display. Reinstalling the program causing it should fix it.

I prefer to use a third party application because it is Windows; it doesn't manage anything efficiently; (Microsoft==Bloatsoft) = TRUE).

However, that's beside the point. There is obviously a problem, or the application wouldn't have crashed on launch. Let's please address that.

Some posts I've read elsewhere seem to indicate that I may need to (re)install the x86 and/or x64 C++ redistributable. What do you think?

It is also worth noting that I have been able to use SSD Fresh on another similarly configured system (Windows 7 Pro 64-bit), and, as stated in my original post, I did try reinstalling the program (with administrator privileges, I might add).

Problem resolved:
I did a repair of the .NET Framework 4 Client, and the problem seems to have resolved itself. I can only assume that the framework somehow became corrupted.

Click Start > Control Panel > Programs and Features, select Microsoft .NET Framework 4 Client Profile, click Uninstall/Change. In the Maintenance screen that opens, choose "Repair .NET Framework 4 Client Project to its original state" and click Next. After the repair completes, click Finish.

Thanks for the help!
