Have you noticed how some applications are designed so that the width can't be shrunk beyond a certain percentage of the screen i.e. a skype chat window seems to take about a quarter of the width of the screen even on a 27in monitor this is quite a chunk of real estate.

Does anyone know of hacks to get around this? If I had my way I would use skype, but it is a work requirement,:(

Thanks

Sometimes this is due to border restrictions, you could try changing to classic view if you're using aero presently.

Applications can define the range over which their window may be resized. I don't believe there is any way of overriding this.
