Nothing is so easy as to install Windows, download and install updates, and then create a system image before installing any third party software. If there's need to reinstall, start fresh, just restore the image and your rig is as good as new.

Could you please give me an example of a system that does not need to be updated? Mac needs to be updated, so does Linux.

If you search and read these forums, or any other Win7 related support forums, you notice that most of the issues are A) because of non-compatible, old hardware and third party drivers, or B) because of over enthusiastic, inexperienced user. Both these cases have nothing to do with Microsoft.

No I can't give you one, but the point is that microsoft don't say to you: Wouldn't it be smart to apply some updates to your install? And then afterwards apply them if you want to. That is bad I think,, that you have to use some third party app. I don't think mac or linux do this either, but it isn't good enough I think.

Over enthusiastic users... well, if it's over enthusiastic to expect that microsoft
warn you about any incorrect sets in bios such as a disabled acpi 2.0 support before install, then I'm Santa
