bugs, in general i don't like.
Also the dark, in my house i don't like the dark, i hate not being able to see.
Animals in genral too, they always manage to sneak up on me, cats, dogs >:[

I don't mind bugs or spiders except the White Tail spider, they seem to love my bedroom and they creep me out.

I watched "Arachniphobia" when I was around 10 . . . messed me up. I'm better now, but that picture is horrible.

I dislike the invasion of my privacy the most, and of course if it's poisonous it makes it worse. I'd like to think the evolutionary adaptations with respect to the fear of poisonous/dangerous creatures gave me a head start with my discomfort surrounding spiders and other bugs.

Or you could just call me a wimp, that's fine.

Up until I was about 12 years old, I was just terribly scared of snakes. If I saw a picture of one in a book, I would quickly turn the page. I could not stand to look at them. When I joined Boy Scouts things changed. A man from the zoo came out and brought all kinds of poisonous snakes. He walked up to each of us with a rattlesnake in his hand about four feet from our face and put a pencil under his fangs so the venon would drip out. From that point on, it cured my fear of snakes.

We occasionally get some Eastern Brown snakes around the hose.....touch wood none have tried to get in, and the kids know what to do when they encounter one.

killed one that looked similar like that 3 years back by stomping on it with my shoe because it was climbing on the outside of my house and i didnt want to give it a chance to get inside loool anyways i would say the animal that disturbs me the most is frogs god i hate frogs they sound annoying and gives me this feeling like i want it to go away for me or else i'm going to stomp it. Anyways ye hate frogs and they creep me out a bit but not like i can't look at them its just if its in front of me i want it to go away from me and if it gets any closer to me i might stomp it, though they always manage to leave when i warn it by stomping my feet on the floor as a warning that he's in my personal space. I don't want to kill it but dam i cant stand them around me.

I suppose it's my imagination to blame when I get creeped by just looking at a picture, or even imagining a spider crawling on my face, perhaps. Frogs can be poisonous too though, so that feeling can be explained evolutionarily.

Couldn't help it, I thought this was so funny. Stomp that one.

I suppose that it is probably just a matter of the ways that we express things, but I'm never "creeped out" by anything only from a picture of it. I can be repelled by it though. I guess my imagination just doesn't translate a picture into an experience. Too many movies and too much TV probably.

I'm rather fond of spiders...Not joking Most Swiss spiders are harmless, although some rather poisonous spiders have be known to nip over the border and settle down over here.
We sometimes get very large garden spiders with crosses on their backs. I have held some in my palm before, and they do not weigh anything, and some may try to promptly weave a web around your hand and wrist - a very sticky business
I was very fortunate to come across a very beautiful St. Andrew's Cross spider on our garden wall, with its yellow and black stripes shining in the sun and the characteristic X-pattern woven into its web. I like to coax spiders (I am familiar with) onto my hand, but it's very important to return them to their webs for obvious reasons.
And finally, we get tiny spiders scuttling around the house. One of these little fellows actually came zooming down on a thread from the ceiling when I was in bed reading, and dangled happily over my book. I gave it a small prod with my finger, and it rushed ceiling-wards like lightning :-D

Yikes! Well, we're fortunate that we don't get those kind of poisonous spiders hereabouts... And the spiders I have seen around so far have been fairly easy to recognise because of their colour and patterning And how fast those feet move when they're wrapping up an insect in silk for the storeroom area of the web ;-D The construction of the web itself is wonderful to watch. I recall a study where spiders were put on drugs...the webs they built while they were on a "high" were decidedly bizarre

PS: the coaxing is quite straightforward...Just stick out your finger and tickle the spider's feet But do it very gently...and if you're absolutely certain about the spider's harmlessness...!

You're welcome ) When we moved house several years ago, the first thing I noticed was that there were tons of spiders - indoors and outdoors. One garden spider lived right outside our front door for nearly nine months. I think she recognised people leaving and entering the house - our footsteps probably sent specific vibrations through her web. I do hope she never ended up on drugs, though!
