Are Auto Shutdown Programs Safe to Use?

I used this Iobit Auto Shutdown, but then when I boot up after using it, windows asked me to run safe mode/s or start windows normally. Before doing this again, I need some advice if i should continue using this or not. I just need a program that shuts down the pc whenever im doing AFK in my game and will be done at 4hrs and 30mins(I usually sleep back from work and do this), If I dont use one I might oversleep and cant turn off pc again. Sleep mode wont help since it disconnects HSPA/3G

Auto shutdown programs are safe to use but I would avoid anything from IOBit. Among other things the company has been involved with some very questionable business practices. I don't use any such programs.
