Are these okay entry level computer specs?

I wanted to build my first gaming computer and after looking around on newegg and tigerdirect this is what I came up with.

CPU: AMD FX-4100 quad-core zambezi
GPU: XFX Radeon 6750
RAM: G-Skill 4GB (2x 2GB sticks)
PSU: Aspire 600W DarkSide Alum Black PSU - Blue Sleeves
Mobo: ASUS M5A97 AMD 9 Series AM3+ Motherboard
Computer Case: CoolerMaster Haf-912

I heard that the FX series of processors were O.K. but I also heard that a black edition phenom 2 processor could be considered better than the 4100 so if their is one that could be better but not be significantly more expensive than the Fx-4100 I'd appreciate some advice on that. Thanks in advance.

I'm not a huge gamer so my advice might not be worth all that much. One thing I would suggest is that you provide a little more detail - someone else who knows more will probably be able to give you better advice.

I would list the following:

1) Your budget. It's easier to make recommendations if you know what the person is willing and able to spend.

2) What games you want to play on it.

3) What screen resolution you hope to run and what frame rate you consider a minimum.

4) How long you plan to make this system last before you replace it. Some people build a new gaming computer every year. Others know that their next computer will have to last them for a good long while before it's replaced.

that will be more than capable of playing modern games at a decent spec.

if you can afford to spend a little more id suggest getting the xfx 6850 as this card has just kept getting better with updates. or even more and get the 6950 which is what i have in my gaming rig, and it plays anything maxed out.

ummmm....I did something stupid and kinda already bought the 6750 lol But thanks for the advice anyway
also my budget was going to be somewhere around 650 dollars and it might change depending on several different things. But so far I'm good with 650-700 dollars. I plan on playing it at about 720p because of my current monitor. I might upgrade the monitor later on. Also I plan on making this comp. last 1 year without upgrading but I definitely will stick to just upgrading parts and not completely building another computer. Thanks for the advice

it will certainly play games well you just might have to step some games like bf3 back a bit as it is rather GPU intensive.

I actually think I might change the cpu, mobo, and psu.
now the parts are...
CPU- AMD FX-6100 six-core desktop processor
mobo- Fatal1ty 990FX professional series
PSU- Corsair Builder Series 600 watt 80 plus bronze rating
And now I think this'll perform wayy better than the previous setup that I was thinking of using and also I'm considering purchasing another 6750 to put into crossfire-X along with the new mobo and CPU. Also saw that this new Power Supply was 10 dollars cheaper than the first one and was rated to hold up to 80 percent of it's power after it receives it from the AC adapter.
