Anybody playing the Solo Campaign already? I would love to play a good tac sim shooter but every time I have given ARMA a try, I feel like crying like a little boy, as there are way to many buttons to use that by the time I want to remember what each one does, I am dead :D

Perhaps is just the fact that I have been so spoiled by the easyness of today's so called shooters, where you are taken by the hand and told when to shoot and what key to press that I actually find ARMA a little intimidating to play and I end up giving up on it? :o

So anyways, is it just more of the same or has it change in any way. I don't want to say easier but a little more user friendly perhaps. :p

When I eventually get this I probably won't ever actually play the game. I'll just end up downloading DayZ and playing that instead and never bother with Arma III itself. :p

I play it a fair bit but since we closed our server i only really play small co-op user made mission's/scenario's.
As for the single player campaign it will be released in part's with the first one being in October and the others will folow in installments.
The controls and inventory system has been overhauled and is a lot more user friendly but does still take a bit of getting used to. The hardest part is controlling the AI squad's if playing solo, hence why i play small co-op's mostly but am getting to grips slowly with the comanding of AI. There is also a mod you can use which allow's you to combine voice commands with the command menu Simulation HQ | VAC Overview I've not got around to using it yet though.

Simulation HQ | VAC Videos

Other than the commanding of AI the only control's you really need to know are your stance changing and optics. So if you're not leading a squad you'll have nothing to really worry about apart from getting shot :D

If you want to add me on Steam i could setup a local and give you some help with getting to know the game via Teamspeak and do some co-op.
It's also very easy to go into the editor and place yourself on the map and just get used to the function's/ controls without needing to worry about being killed.

If you want to hook up on Steam just give me a shout chap

Just a heads up... the game is still not very optimized so you would need to go into the editor and play about with your graphic setting's. Untill the other day i was running it with everything on ultra and getting between 15 and 50 fps, usually around 30 but after changing some settings i now get between 30 and 70fps. The performance you get also depends on the quality of the mission you're playing. If the mission maker has a small amount of knowledge of the editor it can really hinder the performance.

What is this Days Z???

Well, I usually don't pull the pin until the game is sold for cheap but if and when I do, being that solo and not mp is my thing, I will keep in touch, perhaps is time I expand my horizons with MP. I keep saying that and never do it though... to chicken I guess! :D

DayZ is the zombie mod for Arma and ok in small dose's. We had the number 1 DayZ server for quite a while but it's too much of a ball ache to admin like Arma lol.
Multiplayer is what Arma is all about though..
