Hi all, I am attempting to install XP on my AOD270 Acer Aspire One netbook,

I have copied an install to USB, and tried integrating the SATA drivers into the install with no luck. I have tried disabled AHCI mode in the BIOS and setting SATA mode to IDE with no luck.

I downloaded the AHCI/SATA driver directly from the Acer support website however, when i import it into nlite it shows it as a display driver?

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Installing an old OS on newer hardware can be a serious challenge, particularly with a netbook. The problems you are seeing now are only the tip of the iceberg. A big problem is the lack of XP drivers for newer hardware, most likely not available for your computer. Best to stick with a new OS.

I would virtualize XP from WIn7 using XP Mode, VMware or Virtual Player freewares.

As pointed out it's nearly defunct and more trouble than it's worth reinstalling on modern hardware.
