Cannot connect to Internet to download network drivers.

Direct ENet connect to router doesn't work.. obviously with out the drivers.

I downloaded Win 64 Net drivers from MS / Acer site onto SD card from another laptop. Tried uploading drivers to my AspireOne through its F: drive / SD card because it doesn't have CD / D drive.

The AcerOne doesn't show F: as a valid drive so I can't upload from there. Not sure if that's a separate CPU issue??

So I can't find a way to get the net adapter and drivers onto the AOne

I purchased this 'second hand' and original owner doesn't have any original documentation or support tools etc..

I'm not a expert computer tech, but know my way around pretty well. Just keep hitting obstacles on this problem...

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Aspire One Model Info.

I am away from the unit right now until around 9 tonight. If I can find the info (Calling someone at home)before 9PM I will post reply. Are you able to view the info that I included in the question details? It has processor, mem drive info I there. I don't recall it asking for the model though, so that might not be in there. If you can see that and are able to work with that let me know. If not I'll be sending it through as soon as I get it! Thanks in advance for your help!

Driever link

You initially said the info from your link can be put on a flash drive. I assume that means plugging that Flash into the USB which is NOT the same as putting it onto the SD card and trying to upload through the F (SD Card) Port? I have to find go my flash and give it a try. I'll let you know!

Yes, use the USB flash drive. There is a driver for the card reader in the list which may need to be installed before the card reader will work.

In order to get the LAN driver to work you may also need to install the Chipset driver.

runnng 64 ?

That info was what I read off the Netbook. But just noticed today message saying ' a genuine version of Windows is not running ' I have the product key on the unit, but with driver issue, been unable to connect to check it or update with key.

If there is a specific way to confirm for you exactly what's running versus what is installed, let me know and I'll check it.

I had some difficulty with the flash drive download / upload of the drivers from the link you provided. I'm pretty sure the install wizard has installed them, but haven't yet tried to connect to the web. Going to do that now. Is there anything I need to do, or know about when attempting to get the connection setup??

I plugged an Ethernet cable to book and router and the connection set itself up. Got the not genuine windows warning and it's connected and updating all window 7 settings. Taking awhile, 38% in the last 50 minutes. I'll see what happens when the DL completes and post here with updates.

Thanks for taking the time to hang in here!

It finally revealed there were over 115 Windows updates required and it took the rest of Fri. night /early Sat. for the downloads to transfer through. Then, the actual updating was still running when I left it Sat night. They're complete today. I'm not sure if the speed of this thing is going to help or set me back in what I want to use it for. I've got close to 45 on the routing speed and thought the CPU mem. / processing specs were really good? Maybe not?

As you suggested, I will post the new thread regarding the 'genuine Windows' issue. The key is on a Windows tag on the unit but??? Maybe it was some kind of demo or startup deal? I actually have 2 more downloadable versions of Win 8 from when I purchased a 3 version package earlier this year. Maybe going up to 8 will help speed things up?? But this is the 7 forum so, I'll worry about that later...just glad to have the drivers onboard to open up the com. link for now!

So, as for this issue, I am confident the drivers are in and working. Unless you tell me that the drivers could be causing the very slow downloads / apparent processing, I will close it out.

Thank you very much for helping me get this back in running order, no way I could have figured this one out on my own!!!!!! :-)
