I will soon replace my faulty ASUS p8p67 pro mother board with its exact replacement (except for the new on board revision). Has anyone else already done this? If so did you have to do a Win 7 clean install? I am hoping that I will not have to that.

I haven't done it, but there should be no need to re-install Windows.

You may have to activate it again, though. Changing the MAC address of the onboard network controller may be enough to trigger that, neglecting any other changes.

I had to replace my motherboard (for different reasons) but replaced it with the exact same kind. I didn't have to reinstall and it activated as normal.

Thank you. That's good news. I will not lose any other software that has already been activated.

no, you shouldn't. It should be just like you left it.

You may not even need to reactivate if its the exact same model.

Changing to a different model mobo or other major hardware changes may require SysPrepping the HD on old hardware first in order for it to start on the new hardware: SysPrep to move HD to another computer

This can be done with an automated GUI booting Paragon Adaptive Restore CD on the new hardware and pointing it at the moved HD or it's image.
