asus p8z77 v-pro ddr3 ram issue

hi my last mb asus p8z77 v-pro went pare shape so decided to buy same one so won't have problems with anything but:
new mb don't see my ram 16gb corsair vengeance which was working on old one????
red led shows up continuous so did try cmos clear, did ram ok memory but atfer run up still goes red ~~I am a bit lost - its new mb and could be faulty? or I did missed something? please help

right get to stage that boots up but only on 4gb so slot 2a, if i set all 4 in red led goes off, or even a2 and b2 still red dram led on why? did update bios ? on asus page corsair vengeance is recommended memory pls help

Plug one RAM module into a slot, boot back up and see if the red light comes on. If it boots up with no problems, move to the next slot with that stick of RAM. What you are trying to figure out is if you have a bad DIMM slot on your motherboard. Remember to always shut down, unplug the power supply and hold the Power button for a few seconds until you drain all power from your system before doing ANY work inside your PC.

If you can't find a DIMM slot that the single stick of RAM doesn't fail in, you might have a bad stick of RAM.

If that is the case, you will have to try all the sticks of RAM separately in the same DIMM slot. By that, I mean take a stick of RAM, carefully plug it into the A2 slot(probably, check your motherboard manual to confirm what slot to use if you are just running a single stick of RAM) and boot up. If good, move on to the next stick of RAM. If you get to a stick of RAM that throws the red light on when you try to boot up, that is your culprit. Just because it ran fine in your old motherboard, doesn't mean it will work flawlessly in this one........RAM sticks are VERY VERY touchy when you have to interact with them. Even if you think there is no way they got damaged, it can still happen unfortunately.

Try checking for a bad DIMM slot and if you don't find one, check for a bad stick of RAM.......I can almost guarantee one of those is the culprit.

If you are unclear on ANY of this, please ask here. Even if you think it is a stupid question.......I'd rather you know for sure than brick something because you weren't 100% sure how to do it.

Hi thx Kelly it's bad slit well both a2 andb2 I am quite shocked because it is new mb all ram sticks are fine did update bios to latest but still same

after chat with asus support did access ai tweak -overclock did in ram did change to xmp from auto frequency to 1600 from 1333 and nice - start up with 16gb all ok , 5min later blue screen - overclock fail any thoughts?????
