I just bought the Asus PCE-N13 wireless card for my desktop so I could replace my old one from several years ago, and so I would have space to SLI in the future. I installed it and all the drives and the WLAN utility. However, when I launch the WLAN utility it gives me a message telling me that the computer is unable to connect to the device, even though Windows recognizes it and says it is functioning properly in device manager. I had to put my old wireless card to get internet back. What is going on and how do I fix this?

the Asus PCE-N13 is actually a RAlink chipset on the card. I just bought this card and haven't had the chance to install it. I did a lot of research to determine that there has been several problems with the asus drivers and windows 7. The best way to fix this is to first to download the drivers from RALINK look for the RT2860 driver on thier website. Once you have that driver on the desktop uninstall the card and reinstall it with the RALINK drivers. This should fix your issues with the card.

The second problem could be is that your internet security is blocking the card. Your security system sees that an unknown device is trying to connect to the internet. You can try to fix your security system or uninstall it. In this case disconnect yourself from the internet, unistall your internet protection, reinstall the drivers of the network card, make sure you can connect to the internet and then reinstall your internet security.

Thanks a lot! I was really planning on returning it, causing me to lose money, but your solution worked for me. I had a few issues getting the card functioning properly, but got it to work nonetheless.
