ASUS UEFI Tracking Disk Usage - How to Stop

I've been having some computer issues and just happened to go into the EZFlash menu on the UEFI (formerly bios). I noticed a list of directories on my hard disk appeared along with dates.
Was suprised to see current dates and directories I had accessed today.
About 25 - 30 were listed.

Questions:
What's this used for, and can it be disabled?

EZFlash menu is a option on UEFI BIOS or is an application under Windows to change BIOS settings?

Question is: WHY is it tracking disk activity and is there anyway to stop it?

EZFlash is the UEFI (formerly bios) Flashing Utility with the BIOS..
its used to update your motherboards BIOS/UEFI...

Thanks for your response.
I have EZFlash2 but have stayed away from it for the following reasons.

1) (per ASUS video) Note 2 : Do NOT update the BIOS by yourself if it's not necessary. Update failure could lead your device not to boot/start up.
2) I have NEVER been able to get a response from ASUS.
For example:
Left 3 emails to date with support -- no response.
Called phone # (waited forever), outside of their expertise, transferred.
Waited again, call dropped, so gave up.
3) Our local store where I bought this ASUS MODO has stopped carrying their MOBOs and maybe (unknown),
other ASUS logoed products. Assume they were having same problems as me getting hold of ASUS.

So While I would greatly like to upgrade BIOS, if things go South, where do I go?

3) Sent another email -- complaint address which appeared forwarded to support -- to ASUS yesterday, will see if I get a response.
