Solved Ati 5750

Hi. My monitor sometimes go to power save mode on its own and I am unable to get off it, need to restart computer. What could cause problem? All power settings set to Never switch power off or anything like that. Normally it happens during gaming.

Funny i had that same issue with my new hd6870 well not so new anymore but went to my power plan and customized it again it never did this untill i installed the new card I didnt have this issue with my hd5770 but then again this card uses more power i figured i needed a new psu

I would check the power plan again and raise it to performance I seemed to licked the problem for now but i understand if it was like mine your light was blinking but the hardrive wasnt doing anything green light blinks harddrive led <red> nowhere to be seen does this sound like what it did ?

Thats what calculator says. I got 750W

Baisiclly the monitor switching it off and nothing happen and I can hear that sound is crahsed as well.

The the next step is to turn off all power saving modes and make a custom plan that way the monitor is forced to stay on and the pc as well it sucks to waste so much juice but I don't think there is a way around it unfortunatly

I don't think the hibernation or pc sleep option works to well on win 7 seems like others are having alot of issues with the pc going to sleep or hibernating

well.. thats been done straight away. all options custom changed so all pc components always on. i have not had any probs before. its just after i change psu and upgrade cpu

really you changed the psu and the cpu ? you sure your temps are in range and the mobo is functioning properly ?

system temp is only about 25-35C, cpu not going higher then 50C it is cooling down by arctic freezer 7 pro rev 2.
not sure about mobo, how do I check it. everything seems fine with mobo. bios up to date. ati catalyst up to date.

Only other thing i can think of is test out the card on another machine let it run and see it is does it with another system and if that is the issue rma the card and try a new one

Only thing keeping me from RMA mine was i got it stable now and discontinued sleep mode i think it messes with the cards ability to restart or it just freezes

could be that vram is dying. one day, while playing RE5, my old agp gigabyte 7600GS started showing pink vertical lines and turned off display until i did reset. then it worked until i ran game. then screen turned off again. and then it started happening more frequent until i got fed up and threw it out and installed back my super-old 6200. all was fine but i couldn't play RE5 anymore so i did complete upgrade
