Had an existing install of the 10.4's that were fine. Pulled down the 10.5's to see if the BFBC2 fix really worked. Went straight into the install of the 10.5's and it blue screened during the actual install part (not sure if it was during driver, ccc, etc), but was after the directory selection and component selection. I tried to back out of the 10.5 install and get the 10.4's reinstalled, but now my Sapphire 5830 isn't even being recognized during driver installation. From my system logs, here's the codes from the blue screen:

0x00000019 (0x0000000000000022, 0xfffff8a0012a8000, 0x0000000000000001, 0x0000000000000000)

I'm on Win7 Pro 64-bit, btw. I'm thinking I need to completely clean out the files to fix the partial install caused by the blue screen. Really worried that my card's not being recognized. Any help would be greatly appreciated...

Thanks!
/d.

I just installed the 10.5's an hour using a 5750 card. No problems at all.

Go to control panel and uninstall all ATI software, reboot and let Win7 load it's default drivers and install the 10.5's again.

*Finally* got it. Had to do the above, as well as go into the device manager & uninstall the unknown device - but had to check the "remove all driver files" box. Once I checked the box, I rebooted into safe mode, where it picked up the win7 default drivers. Rebooted, installed the 10.5's, and got a successful install - but at the end of it my resolution dropped and got a warning box that no card was found. Rebooted *again* and it came back up with everything working.

This is my first ATI card in 8 years - never had to go through anything like that with my nvidia cards, even when I was playing around with SLI. Not impressed.

Thanks for your help guys - a sanity check was much needed.
