For those of you using ATI cards in a Crossfire setup, AMD/ATI has removed the normal Crossfire profiles from it's driver package recently. They now must be downloaded separately from the driver, and installed separately in order to optimize Crossfire performance in applications.

Those of you thinking that the new driver packages don't perform as well, and are using Crossfire, might want to check out:

Drivers & Support | GAME.AMD.COM

And download the profiles. It's under 500K in size.

ATI says it was done so that they can release the profiles more frequently, without having to rework the huge driver package when it isn't necessary.

I couldn't believe the difference in game performance after I installed them. I was thinking that I wasted my money on the second video card. Happily, I was wrong.

Crysis looks amazing with the profile up and running..

I had no probs with the driver, but I can only afford 4670's. :)

it seems ATI are going to be releasing "incremental patches" instead of full driver updates...............i dont like the idea of that at all :p

Yeah, but if I read it right, those patches will mostly be profile updates between major driver releases. I don't mind the idea. Anyone playing the newest games can get the new profile for it right away, instead of waiting for a driver release. It might be a good thing.
