When connected via HDMI, assuming the option is there have you gone into the TV's settings and set it to PC Mode?]
For anyone else that may like to offer some more insight you can find the manual for the TV here,
42PFL9509/93 Philips LCD TV 42PFL9509 42" Full HD 1080p with Ambilight Spectra 2 and Pixel Precise HD - Philips Support
thank you stormy!
i have studied the manual, and there is no PC mode in the menu, only let me follow the wizard to connect the TV and choose the PC device.
It's strange that it can display under winxp, but can't under win7.
is it the driver problem?
since the Vista, this problem has already existed.
i search the google and found many such similar problem, and also no solution.
Wild guess - but I think I know the answer!
Windows 7 has much stricter 'built in' HDMI compatability/anti copy RULES!
Thus for 1080p to work correctly
you need to strictly buy:
1.3c (
Certified Specification) 1080p DVi-HDMi adaptor
1.3c (
Certified Specification) 1080p HDMI lead
You can't just go and buy the cheapest HDMi crap on the market, because there are at least 4 different 'specifications' for HDMi leads/adaptors !
Buy the correct leads and adaptor >>>
Then do this
