If it's an old-ish or discontinued model of video card, you may be out of luck. Many hardware manufacturer's won't spend resources on writing 64-bit drivers (or even 32-bit drivers in some cases) for their old devices for a relatively new version of Windows.

brusca, welcome to the Seven Forums.

One thing to keep in mind is that that card hasn't seen a driver update since April 2002,

Drivers for Discontinued ATI Rage

so I'm not surprised in the least that the XP 64 bit driver didn't work as there is no support for it in the driver. Also means there is not now and never will be a Windows 7 driver for that card.

All things considering you need a new card that does have Windows 7 support, either that or you continue using that old card with whatever driver Windows installs for it.

The best I can advise is to download the XP driver then reboot your machine. Once it begins to boot, tap F8 to access the boot options menu then select Disable Driver Signature Enforcement from the list. You may then be able to install the XP driver in http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/316-compatibility-mode.html mode for XP (any SP).

I'm running one of these cards in one of my servers. The best way to deal with the low resolution of the card is to access the server via RDP, i.e. remote desktop. You then get the screen resolution of the guest machine, in my case 1920*1200.

Makes it very manageable.
