ATIKMPAG.sys BSOD

3 GIG DDR 2 Ram

Pretty much stuck and I've tried a lot to get this working. I recently upgraded to windows 7 through the academic program and knew that my 2 GIG of ram would run windows 7 but I wanted to get more. About 2 weeks ago I ordered 4 GIG of ram that was compatible with my current system, but when I installed the ram and booted it up just after the splash screen I get a ATIKMPAG.sys error saying that the video card drivers have failed to load. I have tested the memory and it is fine I've ran the memory in another system and it worked fine there as well. It seems any time I exceed 3 GIG of memory I get that BSOD. I've pretty much isolated it down to just being the ATI drivers, since I can go into safe mode uninstall the drivers reboot and windows into windows with the 6 GIG of memory installed, but when I have to restart even with fresh ATI drivers I get the same BSOD.

Any help would be appreciated in trying to fix this, it just seems really odd to me that something as simple as more ram is causing this issue.

If you wish to have others assist you with your computer's BSOD symptoms, upload the contents of your "\Windows\Minidump" folder. The procedure:

* Copy the contents of \Windows\Minidump to another (temporary) location somewhere on your machine.
