I have been using Audacity right along with no problems and all of a sudden, whatever I record just disappears after a few seconds. I removed Aucacity and then reinstalled. Same Thing! Help please.

Do you mean it appears to record---the meters are bouncing?

Have you rechecked all your settings in Audacity preferences?

Have you done a System Restore to an earlier time when it was working OK?

Have you recently made any changes to your system, particularly anything even vaguely related to sound capabilities?

Yes. It actually lays out the sine waves... and within 3 seconds they just disappear. I also have another software as well... and it works fine. Its. Just in audacity. I have not made any changes to the sound at all. Its like twilight zone.

Found out what my problem was. Audacity apparently gives you a smaller temp folder for recording. Once that temp file is full and you see 0 bytes left. You will need to empty your Temp folder. I went one step further and created an additional folder and directed everything there and that folder is unlimited. Works great now.
