Audio comes out of both headsets and speakers

Hello everyone, lately I've been receiving issues with the audio coming out of the wrong place when im using my new headphones. I'm not sure if it could be a problem with skype because it only happens when im on a call with somebody.

So every time im in a call with someone on skype, the audio from the call stays in my headsets just fine and usual but everything else starts coming out from my speakers. This is especially annoying because my headsets are noise cancelling and i cannot hear the audio properly from the speakers anymore.

Also the headsets i am currently using are SteelSeries Siberia V2

Hi Electros,

Skype has it's own Audio section in the settings iirc, open Skype, find the audio settings and in there you can chose from a drop down menu which device you want for playback and mic.

Hello Electros. It seems that you just have the wrong output audio device set as your default in Windows. Open you Control Panel and select Hardware and Sound. Once you are in Hardware and Sound find the Sound section and click on it. Once the Sound window opens navigate to the Playback tab. When you are in the Playback section find the proper device that you want to use as your default audio device. In your case it would be whatever your headphones are plugged into, weather it be you sound card or your motherboard. Once you found the proper device select it and then click Set as Default at the bottom of the screen. Once the default is set you can then click Apply and close out the Sound window. You should be set after that.

This happens sometimes when programs (like Skype) have the option to change the default playback device for that specific program. If you click on the Tools tab in Skype and then go to Settings, you will see that there is a Audio Device option in the Sounds section. This is just so you can choose where the audio from Skype plays from and as it sounds it is already set to your headphones so you shouldn't have to change anything there. Just please note that if you want set your default audio device back to your speakers you will have to go back and change it in Windows AND in Skype or else you will just end up with the same problem you had originally.

Also just a quick tip. A much faster and easier way to get to the Playback section of the Sounds menu is just to right click on the little sound/speaker controller in the bottom right corner of Windows. Once you right click on it select Playback Devices and it should take you right to the Playback tab of the Sounds menu. :thumbup:
