Audio driver for Intel 945PVS Mobo running Win7 32bit

When I have downloaded several drivers from Intel the High Definition Driver S/PDIF is the only one that installs. I've tried removing it from device manager, downloaded and installed the driver that Intel says will work, but no luck getting audio to the green 1/8th inch jack of the onboard audio. I can certainly pick up a pci audio board, quality is not important. I've tried win xp compatibility mode also with no luck. Any tips will be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Eric

Hello and welcome Eric mate your latter suggestion would be my choice to be honest.

I run Asus Xonar DG cards in all my machines and cannot fault them. Great GUI - mixer / effects features and not expensive either.
