Audio - Everything fine but Choppy Voices

Everytime I watch a video, whether it be on Youtube or VLC, I get this problem that makes every background noise come forward and louder, and the voices are incredibly quiet, when someone does speak the entire audio becomes choppy, like its grinding, This happened last night while i was using VLC just before i started a new episode, now it does it on youtube, even my iTunes music is like it, I just get Drums and Bass.

I've tried restarting the computer, even disabling the sound card driver ( I use Realtech Audio by the by) I've even uninstalled and reinstalled VLC to see if that was a possible fix, but nope, Its still the damn same.

Also, It's the same for Games as well, just tested it on Team Fortress 2, I can hear everything in the background, except my characters voices, when he is either being hit or taunting, his mouth is moving but I'm getting no sound

My suggestion is that if you're using a surround sound system, make sure that each speaker is working correctly, especially the centre speaker. Strangely enough its possible to lose some sound effects, maybe speech in your case, if the centre speaker isn't loud enough

I am actually using Headphones, as my family is gay enough to not let me use my external speakers.... But the headphones are set to stereo as 5.1 doesnt work on headphones... does it?

Not on Stereo headphones no, but you can buy headphones with surround sound, just so you're aware (of course they're more expensive). I know the feeling about the external speakers, I bought the most expensive 5.1 surround sound computer dedicated speakers on the market in 2008 and hardly ever get to hear them without someone shouting at me to turn them down.

The only other thing I can think of right now is to have a look at the System Information tool to see if there's any conflicting IRQ's, you'll probably find that under Accessories\system tools or just search for it in the Start Menu.
I have to admit I'm grabbing at straws here because if you're using Windows 7, its not supposed to have IRQ conflicts, but it could, minutely possibly be a problem
