You have just increased the probability of infecting your computer. Not a wise decision.

Nope I'm still waiting for a response.

I wouldn't worry too much as tbh there are tons of ways for a computer to get infected as long as you take sensible precautions you should be fine e.g. anti-virus program kept up-to-date, run scan every now and then etc...

It's the 6th post down.

Karlsnooks statement refers to setting "autorun/autoplay" on removable media which may be infected with malware or a virus. When autorun is selected and media is placed in the device any malicious code that may be present will be executed without user input, thus creating a potential infection.

Hi,
Thanks for the info,but after checking your link i discovered that Gpedit.msc does'nt exist in my os Windows 7 home premium 64bit.

The information regarding Karlsnooks statement was in the first paragraph;

" Most malware applications spread because of the Autorun feature, which automatically executes a file mentioned in the autorun.inf file located at the root of any removable device like USB. Also, the Open folder to view files option can be easily used to run any unwanted file or executable, and thus in this way there is a risk of your computer getting infected.If an Autorun script includes some malicious code to gain administrative privileges of the system, it may not only damage the OS, but also delete your personal files and folders. It is recommended to disable auttorun behavior for USB drives/ external hard disks to prevent system from such harmful attacks."

I didn't mean to imply that the entire link was relative to you.
