Hi all,

I am having an issue with my pc as my LG BD burner drive and Asus DVD burner drive do not prompt the pop-up box to ask if I want to explore the disc once inserted. Windows explorer shows a disc icon, however when I click on it all it does is prompts to insert a disc and opens the tray. I have reset the Auto-Run settings in Control Panel over and over, no luck. Went into Device Manager and deleted both drives, restarted pc, it added them, still no luck. I burned a music disc no problem yesterday, yet explorer cannot browse the drives. Went to the registry to make sure the Auto-Run settings were enabled, no problem there. Confused on what the problem might be........

This might or might not work for you -- have you assigned a unique name and assigned a drive letter to both of those cd/dvd reader/writers? Sometimes that works to smooth things over. My desktop has both a cd\dvd reader/writer and a BluRay reader-cd\dvd reader/writer. After doing the above-mentioned -- the autorun appears to almost always work smoothly.

Well, they definitely have their own drive letters. The names are anything special, just what Windows calls them. I didn't know you can rename the optical drives, will have to try that.

I did everything in that link, I will recheck it again. I tried to find a 3rd party software that would let me explore anything in the disc drives other than windows explorer, didn't find anything. Would hate to reinstall Windows over something so small.

You are correct! I forgot cd\dvd devices have their own names - don't try to change them.
I was lumping flash drives and cd\dvd devices together - my bad.
