Autocomplete in Office 2010

I just moved a client over to a new computer with Windows 7 64 bit and Office 2010 from Windows XP with Office 2007. This client is having an issue with auto-complete contacts. This person has the need to be very productive and does not want to waste time going through their contacts to find each individual email address they wish to send email to. I have been looking around and the only thing I can find is about a .nk2 file being hidden on the old machine. Right now all I have is dial in access, and I would really like to have this fixed for them this weekend if at all possible. Is there any application out that works with Office 2010, where I can recreate a auto complete list so that every time they start to type the name, they can go ahead and have that automatically populate the TO: field? Or is there a way to make their contacts autocomplete? I have tried sending a fake email to all contacts, but the autocomplete for all goes away after exiting and reloading Outlook.

It looks like the .nk2 files are no longer in use for Outlook 2010. Here's a list of what file extensions Outlook 2010 uses, their use in Outlook, and their location: Outlook 2010 Backup and File Locations

Let me do some more research on what needs to be done and get back to you if no one else does before me

Thanks! Yeah, I have been reading about how to import the nk2 file from the old instance of Office into Office 2010 on Windows 7, but unfortunately the old machine is not accessible to me,as I am working offsite, so I'm looking for a way that would allow auto complete contacts that won't go away as soon as I close Outlook. Let me know what you find, thanks.

Thanks for your help. That did help with the second part of my solution. The issue was that this client's machine was not around or online for me to connect to and retrieve their nk2 file. Their old machine was the only medium that would contain this file. Luckily for me I did have a backup of their pst file. I was able to import their pst file into Outlook 2007 on my own machine and then use this handy application Home | Rebuild Outlook Autocomplete Cache to scan all the items in their sent folder to create a new nk2 file. After this file was created, I then dialed into their machine and imported the new nk2 file into their new Outlook 2010. Again, thank you very much, I'm so glad to have this out of my way.

Still losing cache when close Outlook :-(

This nicely rebuilt the cache file - but alas, as soon as I closed Outlook and went back in, it was cleared again.

Anyone else ?
