Can somebody help me please with this issue?
I have installed my office 2007 in my new computer. Everything seems to work fine, except the Autocorrect function.
I always use this function to add new corrections - or formatted texts. It has always worked well in Windows XP and Vista, but not on this Windows 7.
Any clue of what I should do? Thanks a lot!

(sorry I wrote Window, instead of Windows on the title of this post)

  1. Enter some text in a new message.
  2. Select the formatted text
  3. Go to the office icon and choose Editor options
  4. Now go to the autocorrect dialog (under proofing)
  5. In the Tab, AutoCorrect, at the bottom check the box which says, "Automatically use suggestions from the spelling checker"
Hopefully that will help. :)

Many thanks Irene,

Yes, that is what I have always done and it always worked well in Windows XP and Vista. But since I have Windows 7, the formatted text I enter doesn't stay in the list of corrections after the program closes and I open it again: it simply disappears from that list.
I've tried though a small text that worked well: "Best regards," (with comes out when I type "br"). But for longer formatted texts, it really doesn't work as it used to do with previous operating systems of Microsoft.

I have download all possible updates for Office 2007, but the problem persists. It’s very frustrating because I cannot work as I used to do.

Just a shot in the dark, but have you tried setting the phrases up in Word Auto-correct?

I've tried that too: it works well in Word, the text stays there and it comes out beautifully when I type my shortcut.
But in Outlook it doesn't stay there: after I close that program and open it again (or restart the computer), the correction disappears.

I have repaired my Office 2007, and tried again: it didn't work.
I have uninstalled the program, have installed it again from another source (another CD with another product key): it didn't work.

I don't know now whatelse to try. The problem stays in Outlook, which is vital for my work. I also don't understand why it works in Word, but not in Outlook, as Outlook uses Word...

I really appreciate your help, and hope you won't give up on me :D

Which method did you use to uninstall?

Control panel > uninstall a program > uninstall

When I installed it again, I've notice the correction I've make before - and that it is still working both in Outlook and Word (br => Best regards) - are still there. Therefore, the list of corrections were not deleted when I uninstalled Office.

The list of auto corrections are staying in Word, so isn't it possible to copy that list into the autocorrect list of Outlook? In case affirmative, what's the path?

Thanks again,
Rui
:)

Hello Irene,

Sorry for the delay; I was abroad for my work.
I have done a couple of times what you suggested and it still doesn't work. Because Office 2010 was previously installed in my laptop (trial version), I have uninstalled it too, considering that it was causing conflit with my Office 2007. It still doesn't work.

The situation is still the same: the corrections I create in Word are fine, no problem at all. The ones I create in Outlook works until the computer is not restarted. After that it simply disappears.

Do you have any further ideas please?
Many thanks
Bandeira

This problem is very annoying: I have tried everything to uninstall Outlook from the computer. It says the process was successful, but when I install the software again, the problem persists. I notice that all my previous settings, email accounts, old emails, etc, everything is still there. Therefore it was not properly uninstalled.
I have done it using control panel and also the method showed on the link:
How do I uninstall Office 2003, Office 2007 or Office 2010 suites if I cannot uninstall it from Control Panel?

Does anybody can help me further with this issue?
Many thanks
