Although I love the new functionality of W7's taskbar I find it annoying I have to look across the screen to find closed icons rather than them sitting in the same place as before.

I've tried the XP taskbar method but frankly it takes away a major functionality of W7.

Does anyone know a way to get the taskbar to move unused icons to the left (and by default the open icons move right)

If this doesn't exist yet I'll suggest to Connect.

Hi JoeW,

As far as I know, what you're asking isn't possible. The closest thing you're going to get is probably to bring back Quick Launch (possibly what you meant by "XP taskbar"). The Windows 7 Taskbar is like that by design.
