"dlm" seems to stand for download manager. And the file should have been renamed automatically by the software once it has completed downloading. Maybe it never finished? Do you have a download manager and/or Firefox addon installed?

All of my systems still run fastest on XP 32-bit for the most part. Win7 is fun to play with, but I still prefer XP for raw speed, security, and functionality.
Yes i was using FF and it auto'd a download mgr..i am sure that the dlm is an ext. of that..
but i tried dl'ing it 2x with same results..
I guess i'll reinstall ie and try it with that..(want rc 7 to give windows another try :))

are you trying to upgrade? Maybe it'll work if you boot from the DVD and do a clean install instead.

an error with autorun seems like a corruption with the currently loaded Windows files or a problem with the DVD drive itself.

Try run SFC /scannow, see if that picks up any file problems, and if it does, let it restart, and try your download again.
