Well, AuzenTech released their Windows 7 drivers and are currently in RC-1 stage. The problem is that they don't even work. After I installed them (tried with and without UAC enabled) in a fresh install, no program or application will open at all. It's like a complete system hang up on applications (including their own control panel), therefore leaving me with the only option to completely uninstall it to be able to keep using my computer. Unfortunately now I am left without my sound hardware acceleration and will probably need to switch to onboard audio.

Has anyone experienced this issue or knows how to solve it?

I'm running Windows 7 RTM.

I had this same problem with my AuzenTech X-Mystique. I am also running Windows 7 RTM.

I tried running the Vista drivers in compatability mode. Download the Vista drivers from the AuzenTech website. Unzip. Right click setup.exe and and select compatibility and choose Vista SP2. Then run Setup. After the computer restarts go to control panel > Hardware & Sound and enable the card as default. Then go to the notification bar and use the PCI 3D Audio configuration utility to configure your sound. This worked fine for me.

I'm running Windows 7 RTM.

The RC-1 beta drivers work flawlessly on Build 7100 only

The drivers themselves do work with RTM, but the driver installation itself screws with permissions across the board.

To even configure the card, you have to run the .cpl (control panel file) as admin. This wouldn't be so bad, if it was for just for the cards control panel. Somehow the driver installation de-elevates just about every other app in the process.

ie A lot of applications, games etc suddenly need to be run as admin when they didn't before

As nelqiz suggested, use the multi-drivers and install with compatability mode.

You can either install the XP or Vista drivers (from their respective folders), with either XP or Vista compatibility.

When installing via XP or Vista, the only difference appears to be the control panel GUI frontend. The drivers and functionality appears to be the same, regardless of how you install.

The only significant change that the beta drivers appear to bring is a new frontend GUI and to re-enable DTS:Neo - which quite frankly, is crap anyway.

Auzentech are focusing on the X-FI series, so I wouldn't expect support for older cards in a hurry.
