I cannot understand why the home user pays for these products when there are just as good free programs.

W7 on a DINOSAUR: P2 with 266MHz CPU & 160MB RAM
my security: a normal "USER-account", MSE, Avira-free, a2-full, MBAM-free, Comodo´s FW & D+, WinPatrol, a HOSTS-file, UAC at max, Firefox with "Noscript", a working "main CPU" & "2 optical input units"

WTH are you doing that you need that much security software?

I liked Comodo the last time I tried it but for some odd reason it would randomly lose it's firewall settings.

As a general note on the Comodo Internet suite - which is the only way to get the firewall these days.

I was able to download the free firewall without the suite.

hi !

CarlTR6: "Like Runckle and Hackerman1, I am not willing to try it again. "

no, you misunderstand, Runckle posted: "I refer you to my previous post! "

i then referred to my previous post: " i have some news for you, the latest version is NIS 2010.... "

meaning: you can´t judge NIS 2010 based on how OLDER versions were.
i have NO opinion regarding NIS 2010 as i have not tried it (yet).
i have a very good security-setup and don´t feel any real need to use NIS.
however i might try it later on, although i´m thinking about replacing Avira with Avast.
i also have a license for Kaspersky 2010...

In 2005 you were all moaning that Symantec was bloated as hell pathetic detection and absolutely criminal to get off your computers. I'm sorry I have a longer memory than you have. I won't ever entertain them again! Cross me once, their the fool cross me twice I'm the fool. NO THANKS!:sarc:

I thought Windows ME and 2000 were rubbish, should I stop using any Microsoft products including Windows 7?

You logic is the same as this statement... :sarc:

Just to come back to this. Because they caused me so much trouble in the past, I choose never to go back to an Internet security company. And, if I had a really bad Microsoft software I would go elsewhere! Simple as that - that's logic for you!

There are plenty of other Internet security softwares out there for you to choose from. No need to go to some company that has already killed off it's own reputation!

Windows ME was a fluke and Microsoft doesn't even really acknowledge it in their training. It always goes from detailed explanations of Windows 95, 98 then jumps to 2000, XP, etc. Windows ME is their red headed step child.

Windows 2000 wasn't rubbish. It was quite stable, although in these days it is extremely insecure to use.

It depends on what you like. I personally enjoy my ESET Smart Security and I don't mind paying for a 1 year license. As a matter of fact, my subscription is set to expire in 9 days, care to donate some money in my name ? lol

I'll pay u back

Cheers
