AV question

Alright.. Ive been wondering
Panda says they tested and updated their AV 2010 for WIndows 7.. but somehow I doubt it worked because my windows 7 starts having problems when I install it
And yes I downloaded the latest version straight from the customer zone
Anyway.. what antivirus do most people use and does anyone know which work for sure in 7?

The best AV is the one you like and use. there are as many opinions as products. Just do a search and you will find similar thread about every two weeks here

Have put Avast free home on over 100 machines without a single issue or virus.

IMO it is the lightest weight, least intrusive, yet totally effective unless you turn it off.

Other tech enthusiasts are recommending new Microsoft Security Essentials.

AVG was once widely recommended but bloated up a few years ago and is no longer mentioned much except problems it causes.

Generally with the paid programs, the more you pay the more bloaty and intrusive they are.

There is also IMO no reason for a 3rd party firewall since Windows 7 firewall is perfectly optimized and unobtrusive, and WIndows Defender left on by default will handle spyware sufficiently.

Spybot S&D is the bloodhound I turn loose to hunt infections of any kind - safe mode.

Well, mines not free (to the average person), but I've been using Spyware Doctor with Anti-virus and Threatfire all in one package

I've bee using their products for over 6 year.

Others will give you many free ones, everyone seems to have their own opinion about the freebies.

I paid my Panda.. but I just took it off because the freezing was annoying.. I guess I will do with MSE for now

Oh yea.. on a sidenote
I have had Bitdefender in 2 different versions too before.. alltho that was under XP
But whichever OS I would say NEVER buy BD.. it's way too sensitive
