I use my computer daily and often, when it is woken from sleep mode in the morning, the disk trashes for several minutes. I strongly suspect that the cause of the trashing is Avast (because when I use Process Monitor, I see a lot of Avast). Is this behavior expected? If not, what can I do to try to minimize the trashing. However, if this is as expected, are there any other AV programs, at least as effective as Avast, that don't cause this issue? Or, must I simply learn some patience?...
