avg 9 Update ?

I am using avg 9 when it updates should it popup in the tray when it starts automaticlly to update mine dose not and I want it ?

Are you using the free or paid version?

I suggest you go to AVG > Tools > Advanced Settings > Update > & check that you have the appropriate settings as per snip below.

I went to AVG > Tools > Advanced Settings > Update > settings as per your snip it looks nothing like your snip is it a avg 9 snip ?

The snip is of AVG Anti Virus 9.0.829 - paid version.
Your free version should have something similar to what was in the snip.

Hi brightsun again,
I just did a manual update to my AVG Anti Virus paid version & noted that there is no "pop up" as it downloads the updates. However at the end there is a pop up that says "Update completed successfully."
Suggest that you also do a manual update & see what happens.

I would have to watch next time an automatic scan starts & finishes to give you that answer.
Suffice to say it isn't really an important issue. As long as you surf safely, update AVG as necessary, & scan regularly all should be well with your computer..

Make sure its being allowed through your firewall, both the software one on your computer and the firewall on in your router.

@Tews: that is not a very helpful response, we should at least exhaust any help we can give him, dont you think?

Note - Proxy, Dial Up & Manage are probably not applicable. URL should have been filled in by AVG.

Re scans - I choose to program my scans via the interface in the snip here.

When you downloaded your free version did you get it from AVG?
The default settings are usually appropriate for the majority of users.
Have you altered any of these settings?

As your version is not the same as mine, post snips of exactly what you mean.
