(avg or) win 7 security blocking program installs+updates

I tried installing admuncher and update to Acrobat Pro 8.0. With Acrobat, when I select update from the help menu nothing happens. I figure this must be avg av software, or a win 7 security feature that is blocking program installs+updates (my guess it is more likely Win 7). I don't know where to start to solve problem. Only account on Win 7 is my admin account.

Run the AdMuncher installer as an Administrator (Right-click the AdMuncher installer and select 'Run as Administrator'. When prompted, just click Yes). Same as Acrobat. Right-click the Acrobat shortcut and run it as administrator and try to update.

Make sure AdMuncher or Acrobat are in the list of exceptions for both AVG and Windows Firewall.
