Avoid "Press any key to boot from USB" after boot device selection?
I installed windows on an USB flash drive.
When I boot a computer with this USB flash drive inserted I press F8 to get into the boot device selection.
I selected the USB flash drive as boot device and hit RETURN.
But then I am always asked again:
"Press any key to boot from USB" in white letters on black background with running countdown
Yes, stupid computer! I just tell you to boot from USB flash drive! Why do you ask again?
It is normal. Just press any key to continue to the windows installation.
If you're already finish with the OS installation, remove your flash drive on "Restarting your computer in 10 seconds.." and your computer should boot to windows.

I have just read this thread and am not sure I understand what the situation is!
It would seem that pstein has installed Windows 7 onto a flash drive whereas the "normal" procedure would be to install onto the "C" drive. Have I got that correct - if so what's the point of that?

Hi,
Yep create new media if that option is not wanted
The point of the feature is so one does not have to use F8 all one needs to do is wait for the prompt
The only issue might be if the usb or dvd is not 1st or 2nd in front of the hdd or ssd in the boot order if they aren't the press any key feature might not work the system would choose the first boot devise and ignore the usb or dvd.

I get the same message but it continues to boot to Windows then. My guess is the boot order being the first priority is the USB drive because I have mine set to first boot to the USB (if there's any plugged in).

If you set your drive priority to boot from flash drive, then the computer will do so. But you need to "press any key to boot from USB" to verify. I guess it is a BIOS or mainboard standard and IMO you cannot get rid of it.
By the way,
Why do you prefer installing windows in flash drive?
From reading the first post again, I think Windows 7 was installed on the flash drive and now will not boot from the flash drive into Windows 7 operating system.
To the best of my memory, Windows 7 can not be run from a flash drive installed in a usb port.
