I have files on my computer with the ending .ach which are associated with the program eSignal - so when I double click on an .ach file it opens eSignal. So far so good.

However when I double click on a second or subsequent .ach file it opens a completely new instance of eSignal - which I don't want. I just want the original instance of eSignal to be used each time

Is there anything I can do about this? Support at eSignal say they are unable to help.

That behavior is default. Every time you double click on an .ach file it will open a new eSignal.
To open an .ach file on same eSignal you should go by the Open command from eSignal.

Thanks for your answer. What seems strange to me is that when running eSignal on XP I wouldn't get multiple instances. It just happens on Windows 7.
