To backup data on a file server is easy, I use grandfather-father-son schema.

But I don´t understand how it works on a database server. (SQL) It has a C and a D drive.
The OS is on the C drive and the database is on the D drive.

Lets say I make a full backup of C and D drives on the sql server, and the server breaks down one day.

I then restore the server with my backup of the C and D drives. Will the database on D drive
run fine after my restore?

You make backup using windows system image (C and D included in 1 image)? If not... what backup program do you use? System restore points are active on both disks?
