Back up error message

When I try to back up my Dell Windows 7 computer to an external drive that I have connected I get the following error message. The backup application could not start due to an external error. The specified
service does not exist as an installed service 0x80070424, Does this mean I have to purchase something from Dell or is there somewhere I could download for free what I need. I recently had to replace my power supply and a I do not want to fear losing the info I have on here for another extended period of time.
