Good day to all,

I am in dire need of help, It seems when i have multiple windows open the windows i have in the background will start to flash to the foreground specifically the corners of those windows. it will flash until I move my mouse over the affected areas but will only fix it for a few seconds.

so far I've cleaned all my temp files and useless junk, changed the foreground lock timeout registry value to 0, switched out the VGA cable to a DVI and back to a new VGA

if i take a screenshot while its happening it shows a perfectly clear image i also use this monitor for console gaming and don't have any issues there

please help, I'm starting to get an eye twitch with this issue.

Welcome to the Seven Forums.

You can check the Dell website and see that your video drivers are up to date and you might want to run this scan:
What is Windows Defender Offline?

a program in the background will flash only to notify user that a process has been finished, like in a web browser when a file is downloaded, or a program uninstallation is finished. so when a flashing happens to certain program, check what has been executed by that program. after you know what it is, you can then prevent the program from doing that task without your consent.

these aren't so much notification flashes. but blocks of the backgrounds windows flickering to the foreground on occasions the actual background will flash repeatedly on-top of the main foreground window where the is space between background windows
