Backing up files using Robocopy

Well, got a little news. Not good however. There are quite a few forum posts out there that complain about this exact "shortcoming" of robocopy. Responses all say for the poster to check out third party software. No one mentioned an app they knew that worked. Couple hours ago I had run across a program that claimed it could do it. I think it was Second Copy, not freeware, and don't have any idea of the cost. I've heard of it before, but I've no clue as to whether it's reliable or not...

Hmmm, that's interesting. If it costs me to pay, even fora penny. I would rather stick with the solution of just creating a destination folder that's already compressed :)

Yeah, it's simpler. I wouldn't add another app just to do one thing that can already be done by the OS, albeit with a little less organization and an extra step in a batch file. Actually, if all you'll ever have is this one particular file, you could compress it after the copy and keep it in the same folder, all in one step...

Yeah, I think so. At least I know now that this is really a common problem of robocopy and not an isolated case.
