Hello Forum,
Recently I was trying to get rid of some old restore points, as you already know, it did not work.
Now I have noticed that the system does not create automatic restore points as used before, I do not know what turned this off, I would like to turn it back on, sometimes a new restore point can be needed.
However, occasionally when I open the "System Protection" window, I see in the "configure restore settings"
each time some MBs added and it keeps growing but no new restore point.
How do I turn on the system automatic restore points creation ?
Answers will be appreciated.
Thanks
Motim

Hello Motim, :)

By default, System Protection automatically creates a scheduled restore point only if no other restore points have been created in the last 7 days, and before significant system events such as a program or driver installation.

You might also check to make sure you have enough storage space set to have more restore points available.

After doing what Brink has suggested.

You could also check and see how much free space is on your "C" partition. You will need free space to create Restore Points.

@ motim.

You mentioned you can't get rid of you old Restore Points. In one of your other Threads you also mentioned this & it was suggested that those old Restore Points will remain until you delete those old Windows made back ups. If delete them you should then be able to get rid of the old Restore Points.

Now that you are using Macrium you could remove those old Windows ones. This will also give you some more disc space as well.

Hello,
Thanks for the answers. There is enough free space on C drive, and I configured the Disk Space Usage to 8% on disks C and F, but system has not done any automatic restore point yet.
Is something wrong with my system ?
Because of this problem I stopped (temporarily) downloading windows updates, and the flag stopped reminding me to update.
Any help will do.
Thanks for answering
Motim

Motim,

You will need to free up some space on C: first. Do you have another hard drive that you could use as a data drive instead to help free up space on C? :(

Hello,
Here is my answer to Mr. Brink, as you can see on attached screenshots, C is used only for the system, and has plenty free space. Also 8% are set for restore point, and actually there is only one restore point made manually by me some days ago, I believe the other entries are "ghosts" (which I tried many times to delete them with all available tools, unsuccessful so far) as so many so called backups should
"eat" a lot of space, and there are only 1.2 GB used.
Thanks for the answers
Motim
