Backup fails with win & mecrium error 0x81000037

I have a samsung laptop running windows 7 / 64 that I can't backup. I found that backup space was set to zero. I know that it had been 270 gigs. I reset it to 400 gigs & tried to download Mecrium Ref. It said I needed the Mecrium32 version. When I tried the 32, it said I needed the 64. After trying a few times I got 32 & 64 to start. But recieved an error of 0x81000037 after 12% backup. Windows backup does the same. I have about 245 gigs of free space and an image is 197 gigs. Help

Hi Roland, I use an external drive (seagate 500gb ). Last time I tried I recieved error 0x80780120
