I am getting the message that Backup skipped backing up d:\ as it is on the backup target. I have formatted the usb flash drive that I am using for backup and still the message comes up. Does anyone know how to tell the computer I don't want this on the backup target? Thanks

Margarithe, Welcome to Seven Forums.

Please post a copy of the output of Disk Management. Here is how.

HOW TO POST A SNAPSHOT OF DISK MANAGEMENT DISPLAY

Run disk management:
WIN | type DISKMGMT.MSC | ENTER
WIN is the key with the wavy flag.

Maximize the output of Disk Management:
ALT Spacebar key combo | X key
Drag the field separators (such as between Status and Capacity) to show entire field.

Make a snapshot:
WIN | type SNIPPING | ENTER
Click the New button.
Drag the cursor around the area you want to snip.
File | Save as | select save location and name | Save button

Post the snapshot:

As you probably noticed, something went astray and the snapshot is missing.

I've done the same thing myself and more than once.

Format D as NTFS and make inactive. Both of these can be done from within Disk Management.

May have goofed. Twice. Go ahead and try it with D marked active. Active usually designates that a drive can be bootable, in layman's terms.

Be sure to format as NTFS.

Can't remember whether DiskManagement can mark as inactive. I always use DiskPart for those kind of things.

If you still have difficulties, yell and I'll give you the sure fire solution.
