Solved Backup & Restore error 0x80070424

I received my laptop back earlier this week after having the hard drive replaced and Windows 7 reinstalled. Today when I went to run a manual back up I was prompted to 'set it up'. After going through the setup process and clicking 'start backup' I receive the above error message and "The Specified Service Does Not Exist As An Installed Service".

Have run sfc/scannow with no errors. In services.msc, Windows Modular Installer Properties is set to manual. All updates are current and installed. Tried researching online and most answers regarding this error code point to a registry setting. I am unable to find an answer for Backup & Restore.

Am hoping to get a fix here, otherwise I'll need to take my laptop back in and hate being without it.

Found a good recommendation for another backup program on this forum, Aomei Backupper, which is also available as freeware.

Decided to install it and have been very pleased. It has more additional features than Backup & Restore with a simple, easy to use user interface. Plenty of tutorials to explain the many functions - many of which I won't use.
