Hi all........;)

has anyone noticed a grainy effect with video playback through ''7'' yet..??, i cant seem to null out the problem.....its fine while playing DVDs, but AVI & other formats look pretty terrible.

i thought a lack of codecs could of been the problem, but its not..??, strange really, its not a graphical problem (gaming is fine), or codec related.....

im using MPC, but i get the same results with other media players....

thanks....

the new version of MPC ''x64 cinema'' plays all files flawlessly, it must be codec related but for the life of me i couldn't null out the problem with different packs..??

Well I know this topic is old, but since I see some of you had the same problem I am having right now I was wondering if there is anything else I can do.

I've tried the MPC x64 cinema because of skunksmash's suggestion but it look's as bad as it was when I played on VLC Player.

Can anyone help me with this?

Tks!

well I could say that a 720p res video looks like a low res.

It's like there was translucent square on screen

That would be an easy way of explaining it.

Hey everyone. I am having, I believe, the same issues.
On my monitor and on my TV when I watch an avi or a dvd the playback is quite "pixelated". It looks like the video is being played in a low res. I have tried multiple players including MPC, as stated above. I have tried different drivers as well.
Looking for some more ideas.
Thanks a lot.

Same problem here. It seems to look great in a small window but when you go to full screen its very pixelated. All edges are very UM..it looks like tiny boxes stringed together. I have downloaded codec packs and play files on both VLC and WMP. I get the same results.

Hi all.
I have the same issues. It appears to affect Live-Tv broadcast's viewed and recorded/playback through Media Centre and WMP.
As a side note i installed Media PLayer Classic and discovered that this has no issues with viedo qaulity. I have also updated all my DirectX compenants. I am not using any additonal codecs (aside from those installed with Power DVD 9 Ultra). My W7 is brand new with no other programs installed.
There is very bad artifacting in HD Videos displayed. On this same machine with the same hardware using Vista Ultimate x64 (dual boot), i had no artifacting.
I've checked my video card drivers, powerdvd settings etc. Nothing stops the artifacts.

Is there anyway to adjust video settings for uncompressed video formats like dvr-ms in w7?
