in my experience you are better off with a Canon since HP often has expensive ink. they give you the printer for almost free, but kill you with ink. Bakc nt he old days I had a HP with $ 50 per black cartridge, a Canon cost $ 10. for the Canon I even coudl get off-brand ink for $ 5. It's an old example and may not apply anymore, though. but they deliver the printer with only 1/3 full tank (they call it economy ink.. economical for them I guess)
i don't know that specific model, but you should see what the ink cost. If you print more than one colored page a month, you also should get one with 3 or more color tanks (red, green, blue) instead of one with all 3 colors in one cartridge.
there are some refill shops that have cheaper ink. But HP often has the printer head included int he tank. with that you always have to replace the entire (expensive) head
some better home models can even print double-sided (I don't mean manually printing even and odd pages, but the printer actually turns the page and prints on both sides.)
