Need a higher watt psu that's quality, for a low quality psu the most you could get is a very low end card. Like Ivan said what kind of case is it in and also how much you willing to spend?

I believe some of the low end Radeon cards can run off a 250 watt. I am talking the X1050 series. Problem is, since I doubt they make these cards anymore, finding them may be next to impossible. I recommend a PSU upgrade to AT LEAST 500 watts, and then you can get a 256 - 512MB card. Best bet is to get a PSU at 600 - 750 that way you can run pretty much whatever card you want. PSUs are really cheap if you look online, so it won't set you back much.

It's not easy,or cheap to get a power supply if he is running a slimline case:sarc:....In addition the x-series is in legacy support status the Vista driver is for a 32 bit OS http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/windows/Legacy/Pages/radeonaiw_vista32.aspx May or may not work with his 64 bit system....

Looks like you have the i3 with HD 2000. How much of a performance boost do you need? an i5 with HD 3000 may be sufficient, depending on what you are doing (it will run Skyrim, then again Skyrim runs on my Pentium at near-minimum settings...).

get a HD 5450 that uses very little watts ,its a video card made for watching hd content and photo editing you can also do some light gaming on it even though its not a gaming video card can run new games on low-medium, anyways its main purpose like i said is to stream high resloution video, photo editing like Photoshop and some 3d molding like in 3dmax which i tested before in the trial when i use to use this card. For gaming just dont expect playing on super high resloutions on new games and will work okay around low-medium with lower resolutions but videos will run fine in high resolutions like 1080p

Can get one for cheap at amazon

+1 to M1GU31!

Just upgraded my system and installed an ATI 6770. I had a 5450 for 2 years and loved it, putting that and my old Core2 6600 into grandson's PC. The 5450 is a cracking card for the money.

at least 500W its crazy suggestion for basic graphics card, at least that was the thing original poster wants isnt it? if you add high end GPU in such pc i think other parts will become bottleneck so what is the point? for low end 350W for mid 400W quality psu is enough. i run GTS450 with slight OC on 400W and the load is never 100%..
quality is over quantity good 400W power supply is better than low quality 500W.

HD 5670 is a great little budget card , I picked up one 2nd hand for 40 quid runs all games at the highest detail no problems, windows rating system rated this card at a 7 for graphics and gaming graphics.......it's a relatively small card so fits in a micro tower easily and it's easy on power as there's no external connection to the PSU, a 400watt power supply is all it takes

And how do those formats handle on your current Intel graphics?

It's ok but in certain high bit-rate movies/videos there are a few noticeable stuttering and crazing especially in frame transition.
